Djokovic suffers his first Shanghai loss

Novak Djokovic: already through to the semi-finals
13 April 2012

Novak Djokovic lost his unbeaten record at the Masters Cup in Shanghai today when he was defeated in three sets by Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

But the Serb, who lost 1-6, 7-5, 6-1, was already guaranteed a place in the semi-finals while for Tsonga it was a hollow victory since he had been eliminated after losing his first two group matches at the event.

Nikolay Davydenko and Juan Martin del Potro were second on court today to decide who would join Djokovic and British N01 Andy Murray in the last four.
