Delgado's exit leaves two

13 April 2012

Jamie Delgado, last year's beaten finalist, suffered a second-round defeat in the Manchester Trophy but Britain has two players in today's quarter-finals.

Delgado, who won his first match in 11 tournaments in the opening round, lost 6-1, 7-6 to Italian Stefano Pescosolido.

However, Arvind Parmar and Lee Childs are still going strong and could meet in Sunday's final.

Chris Wilkinson was the last Briton to win the Didsbury grass-court event in 1998.

Pete Sampras, Goran Ivanisevic, Stefan Edberg and John McEnroe are all past champions when the tournament was held prior to Wimbledon.
