David Haye dismisses bold Audley Harrison predictions

13 April 2012

David Haye has told Audley Harrison he has a long way to go before he can even think about challenging for his world heavyweight crown.

Harrison takes on Michael Sprott today for the vacant European heavyweight championship at Alexandra Palace.

The former Olympic champion, who weighed in yesterday at 17st 12lb 4oz, more than a stone heavier than his opponent at 16st 9lb 12oz, will be looking to gain revenge for his third-round knockout three years ago.

And Haye claimed Harrison would have to start living up to his bold predictions if he is to reach his level.

"I don't think he's never won the British title to this day, and this is his first major title fight, and it's a vacant title against Michael Sprott, a guy who knocked him spark out in three rounds," Haye told Sky Sports News.

"I think he should focus more on his own career and not worry about me so much. He's lost a lot of fights to guys he shouldn't have lost to."
