Dallas turns down Gold Coast

12 April 2012

Former Wigan winger Brett Dallas has turned down the chance to relaunch his rugby league career with NRL new-boys Gold Coast Titans.

The 31-year-old former Queensland and Australia flyer left Wigan at the end of last season after seven successful years at the JJB Stadium, and returned home to Australia with his young family.

Dallas has since settled back in Sydney and, despite being tempted to move up the east coast to join up with the Titans, has decided against uprooting his family again.

"Brett had a reasonable offer from the Titans, but he weighed up the cost of relocating with his family and decided against it," agent Sam Ayoub told the Sydney Morning Herald.

The move to Gold Coast would have seen Dallas link-up with his former Wigan team-mates Brian Carney, who has joined the Titans after a superb debut season Down Under with Newcastle Knights.

Dallas is hoping one of the several Sydney-based outfit will offer him terms for next year, otherwise his last game of rugby league will have been the Warriors' victory over Hull in September.
