Dailly undergoes surgery on knee

West Ham captain Christian Dailly was today undergoing an exploratory knee operation.

Dailly, who missed the 3-1 home defeat by Wigan, could be out for some time depending on the result of the operation.

The odds against Michael Carrick leaving West Ham were meanwhile lengthening today, following the news that the midfield star is not keen on moving to any of the clubs who have showed an interest in signing him.

Portsmouth have already offered £3.5million for Carrick while Everton and West Brom are also keen.

However, West Ham managing director Paul Aldridge said today: "Michael is still considering his options but has yet to find something which fulfils all his criteria.

"It would be fair to say that, the longer it goes on, the more likely it is that he could stay."
