Dailly doubtful for Old Firm clash

12 April 2012

Christian Dailly is a doubt for Saturday`s Old Firm derby after an X-ray revealed he has a broken toe.

The Rangers defender, 34, had the scan after experiencing discomfort following the 2-1 victory over Hibernian at the weekend.

His injury has forced him to withdraw from Scotland`s friendly against Croatia on Wednesday - along with James McFadden - and the utility player could also miss the visit of Celtic.

Rangers manager Walter Smith told the Scottish Daily Mail: "Christian was limping badly after the game and X-rays showed he has a broken bone in one of his toes.

"He will not be able to do much at all for a couple of days and then the injury will have to be assessed again by our medical staff.

"We would have to consider him doubtful at this stage for the game against Celtic."
