Curbishley double before deadline

Leo Spall13 April 2012

Charlton expect to sign two players before Saturday's transfer deadline.

Dutch midfielder Martijn Reuser is poised to join on a three-month loan from Ipswich and manager Alan Curbishley has another deal in the pipeline.

Chairman Richard Murray said: "We have looked at a number of players and we are confident that by tomorrow we will have two."

Curbishley turned his attention to Reuser after a £2.3million move for Alex from J-League side Shimizu S-Pulse fell through because the Japanese international was not granted a work permit.

Charlton have been having problems in midfield since selling Mark Kinsella to Aston Villa for £1m last week. Scott Parker has been unable to play because of an ankle injury and Graham Stuart has damaged knee ligaments.
