Chelsea's Carlo Cudicini has been beaten to the inaugural Barclaycard 'Golden Glove' award by Bolton's Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Jaaskelainen finished ahead of the Chelsea goalkeeper in a poll of football supporters. They put Jaaskelainen ahead of Cudicini, Liverpool's Jerzy Dudek and Newcastle's Shay Given.

Chelsea's 21-year-old midfielder Sam Dalla Bona says he would like to sign a new deal.

He has been linked with possible moves to Inter and AC Milan but said: "The club, the supporters and the atmosphere are all good so I'd like to stay."

Defender Mario Melchiot today revealed that an open-top bus ride through Chelsea has helped the players lift themselves for tomorrow's home clash with Aston Villa.

Chelsea were devastated by their FA Cup Final defeat by Arsenal but Melchiot says the turnout by the fans has helped them to overcome their disappointment.

Melchiot said: " The shock of losing the Final has now all but disappeared. I think going around the Chelsea area in an open-top bus definitely helped lift us."

Chelsea may be without Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who has been receiving treatment on the calf injury that forced him out of the Cup Final during the second half, against Villa.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have lined up pre-season trip to China, where they will play Chongqing Lifan and Beijing Guo'an on 28 and 31 July respectively.
