Cronje attempts to overturn life ban

South Africa?s disgraced former captain Hansie Cronje will go to court on Wednesday in a bid to overturn the life ban imposed for match-fixing.

Cronje ? s appeal against his ban will be heard at Pretoria?s Supreme Court where he is expected to argue he has been punished enough.

But reports that Cronje could be free to play again by the weekend were today described as ?pure speculation? by a spokesman for the United Cricket Board of South Africa.
