Standard Sport brings you live coverage from the start of the fifth Test, as England looked to celebrate in style after regaining the Ashes.

Alastair Cook and Co could have moved above the Aussie’s in the world rankings if they triumphed in the fifth although that’s not all.

Victory at the Oval on Thursday would also represent the first time England have won four home Tests during an Ashes series, while they have not won six Tests in a calendar year since 2011 – when they ranked No1 in the world.

Jimmy Anderson is missing once again with the side strain that saw him ruled out of the end of the fourth Test.

Speaking to the press on Wednesday, Cook confirmed: “He's made really good progress and the medical staff have been brilliant with him but he's still probably about a week away.”
