Middlesex to talk with Kevin Pietersen

10 April 2012

Kevin Pietersen could join Middlesex after the county revealed today they are to have talks with the England batsman.

Pietersen is leaving Hampshire so he can find a county closer to his London home. Middlesex and Surrey are the obvious options with the former making their intentions known.

Angus Fraser, director of cricket at the Lord's county, said: "Conversations will take place but at this moment in time they haven't."

Hampshire have not used Pietersen since he announced in June he was leaving and have left him out of their squad for the Friends Provident t20 Finals Day tomorrow.

The hosts play Essex in the first semi-final, which will be followed by Nottinghamshire's match with Somerset.
