Alastair Cook is one of five senior players to be rested for the one-day series against Australia next month.

Eoin Morgan (above) is promoted to lead the team with Cook, the Test and 50-over skipper, being given a breather after leading England to a 3-0 victory in the Ashes. Jimmy Anderson, Ian Bell, Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann will also play no part in the five-match campaign.

Pace bowlers Chris Jordan and Jamie Overton receive their first senior international call-ups while Luke Wright is brought back into the 50-over side. Batsman Michael Carberry, all-rounder Ben Stokes and fast bowler Boyd Rankin are also included.

Three days before the series against Australia starts on September 6, England take on Ireland in Dublin. Steve Finn is the only member of the Ashes-winning squad who has been selected for that game as England grant their main men some extra time off.
