England have named an unchanged 14-man squad for the third and final Test against Pakistan at the Ageas Bowl, which starts on Friday.

Once again, the main selection dilemma for Joe Root and Chris Silverwood will come in the fast bowling attack, with Jofra Archer, Mark Wood and the uncapped Ollie Robinson all in contention after being left out of the drawn second Test.

The hosts take a 1-0 lead into the series finale, having won the opener at Old Trafford before last week’s match was decimated by rain and bad light.

England’s seamers bowled just 91.2 overs between them across the five days, meaning fatigue is unlikely to play as big a part in selection as was expected when the hectic schedule was announced.

Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes have both played four Tests in a row, stretching back to the West Indies series, but have been the pick of England’s bowlers this summer.

Sam Curran was brought in for the second Test to add depth to the batting in Ben Stokes’ absence, while James Anderson bounced back from a disappointing showing at Old Trafford to take 3-60.

England’s top six will remain unchanged, with Stokes still missing as he spends time with family in New Zealand and Zak Crawley having taken his chance to impress with a half-century.
