Andrew Flintoff was forced into an “embarrassing” Twitter request for tickets for the upcoming Ashes Test at Lord’s after the ECB did not give the former all-rounder any.

The 37-year-old hero of the 2005 series was hoping to take his two sons to the scene of some of his greatest performances, including in the second Test of the 2009 Ashes where he was man of the match after taking five wickets in the second innings.

Posting on his Twitter feed Flintoff he asked for four tickets for the opening day of the match, where he said that he had asked the ECB to arrange for his family to attend several weeks ago.

With the only tickets still available for the match being for the fifth day Flintoff was forced to ask his followers if anyone was selling any.

Twitter

We can only hope the cricketing icon was successful in his hunt as he soon deleted the tweet.

Thursday’s second Test sees England look to build on the series lead they took at Cardiff after a dominant display with bat and ball handed them a 169 run win.
