Corry faces lengthy ban as Wasps go top

England captain Martin Corry has been called before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing in Coventry tomorrow night following his red card for elbowing Richard Hill during Leicester's 19-17 defeat by Saracens.

Corry, 31, is likely to be banned for at least three weeks after Hill required six stitches in a wound above his right eye.

That would rule him out of Sunday's Heineken Cup semi-final clash with Toulouse and the Premiership decider against new leaders Wasps on 30 April. But Corry may receive a longer ban because he was suspended for a fortnight last October after appearing to stamp on a Bath opponent.

The Saracens game featured off-the-ball incidents which resulted in Sarries prop Kevin Yates being ruled out for the rest of the season with a fractured cheekbone and left Leicester lock Louis Deacon also nursing a facial wound.

Wasps beat Worcester 32-17 and clinched the allimportant bonus point that took them to the top, with Paul Sackey scoring a wonder try. If Wasps win at Leicester they qualify for the play-off final at Twickenham on 14 May.
