Cook ruled out

Alastair Cook has been ruled out of England's second match in the NatWest Series against New Zealand at Edgbaston through injury.

The Essex left-hander, who has been struggling with a right shoulder problem since England's victory in the final Test at Trent Bridge over a week ago, missed the Twenty20 international at Old Trafford and Sunday's resounding victory in the opening match of the series at Chester-le-Street.

England have added Middlesex left-hander Andrew Strauss to the squad as cover.
