Having broken Sir Michael Stoute's St Leger hoodoo when triumphing under Frankie Dettori last month, Conduit could now get a chance to become the trainer's first Breeders' Cup winner since 2003.

Conduit's season had been thought to be over following his exploits at Doncaster but Stoute is now considering a tilt at the Breeders' Cup Turf.

Stoute, who has won the Breeders' Cup Turf twice previously with Pilsudski (1996) and Kalanisi (2000), said: "We are just loosening Conduit up and seeing how he is, there is nothing for him in Europe."

The three-year-old will work at Newmarket this weekend but would be a major player if turning up at Santa Anita on 25 October according to one bookmaker.

Coral spokesman David Stevens said: "If Conduit were confirmed we would make him 6-1 third favourite behind Soldier Of Fortune and Duke Of Marmalade."

Meanwhile, Neil Callan's successful appeal to change the dates of a two-day ban to ride Pressing in the Group 1 Premio Vittorio di Capua in Milan on Sunday, looks likely to be in vain.
