Clarke set for crunch Chelsea talks to find out if he has a future under Scolari

13 April 2012

Chelsea legend Steve Clarke will meet with Luiz Felipe Scolari for talks next month to learn his future as Chelsea assistant manager.

Stamford Bridge chiefs are keen for the Scot to stay following his impressive work alongside Jose Mourinho and Avram Grant, but their new manager wants control over his backroom team and is keen to meet the former defender before making any decisions.

Clarke has also been considering leaving Chelsea in the hope of pursuing a managerial career and may decide now is the time to go.

The Brazilian already has plans to bring two of his most trusted aides in the Portugal set-up with him.

Flavio Teixeira has worked as Scolari's assistant since their first job together at Brazilian club Centro Sportivo Alagoano in 1982, while Darlan Schneider has been the fitness coach with Portugal for the past five years.
