Christian's acceptance over Carrick

14 April 2012

Christian Dailly has pledged his future to West Ham but admits the club have no alternative but to cash in on midfielder Michael Carrick.

Alan Pardew's side failed to gain promotion to the Premiership after losing the play-off final to Crystal Palace.

Carrick's contract expires next summer and captain Dailly said: "Carrick is a class player and we all want him to stay but in the end it's going to be up to Michael and the club has already stated it is looking for the highest bidder.

"The board and chairman have to make financial decisions and they will do that with Michael but there is no way I'd want to leave and I want to get us up."
