Childs makes stunning debut

Tim Henman kicks off his bid to win the Samsung Open against Michal Tabara, of the Czech Republic, tonight with Brighton already revelling in a British success story.

Eighteen-year-old wild card Lee Childs, the British No 9 who surprised everybody by winning the National Championships at Telford earlier this month, made a stunning ATP Tour debut with a 6-4, 7-6 victory over Armenia's Sargis Sargsian, whose world ranking is 332 places higher.
