Chelsea v Manchester United player ratings

SCOTT SINCLAIR (Chelsea)

Showed some nice touches and is not short of confidence, but Chelsea needed to get the ball out to him more on the left.

Has the tight turns to get himself out of trouble and seven goals in 11 games for the reserves suggest the 18-year-old striker has an eye for goal.

Sinclair: Sent on loan to Plymouth this season

Should leave a space in the reserve side next season, but that can easily be filled. Aldershot on a Tuesday night, Andriy Shevchenko?

KIERAN LEE (Manchester United)

Was welcomed to the Premiership when Mikel John Obi left him floundering in the first five minutes, but that was the last time the 18-year-old full back was shown a clean pair of heels.

Stuck to Salomon Kalou like glue whenever the Chelsea striker was in his vicinity and matured as the game went on. Gary Neville's place could finally be under threat. And not just for United but England as well.

CHRIS EAGLES (Manchester United)

All credit to the kid because he somehow managed to gingerly get back on his feet after Mikel John Obi's disgraceful challenge.

It left United boss Sir Alex Ferguson furious and who can blame him? Eagles' blossoming career could have been cut short by the crude nature of Mikel's scandalous lunge.

The 21-year-old winger had his revenge when he clotheslined Shaun Wright-Phillips after the break.

DONG FANGHZUO (Manchester United)

Finally made his United debut three years after signing, but it was hardly worth the wait.

Pitching the 22-year-old against Chelsea warrior John Terry in his first game is hardly a fair fight and the poor lad barely got a touch.

If Sir Alex Ferguson wanted to protect his players from injury or suspension ahead of the FA Cup Final on Saturday week, he would have been better off picking a United fan from the stands.

They could not have done any worse and the China international was replaced by Wayne Rooney halfway through the second half.

TOMASZ KUSZCZAK (Manchester United)

Left brutally exposed when Shaun Wright-Phillips got on the end of Mikel John Obi's clever through ball, but the 25-year-old goalkeeper made a timely save to prevent Chelsea taking the lead and again denied them as they pushed for the winner.

Distribution is excellent and although the former West Bromwich Albion keeper is unlikely to trouble Edwin Van Der Sar, he will be competing with Ben Foster for a place on the bench next season.
