Chelsea player ratings vs Tottenham: Rudiger, Silva boss tepid Spurs; Kante arrival changes game
Chelsea continued their terrific start to the new Premier League season with a comfortable 2-0 victory over London rivals Tottenham on Sunday.

One impressive first half save denied Son and he was quick off his line on a number of occasions.
Andreas Christensen 7
In the centre or on the right, it is all the same to him. Strong and decisive in the tackle and stood up well when Spurs had their best moments.
Thiago Silva 9
His goal opened the scoring, but his assured defending was crucial as well – particularly when Spurs threatened the first half.
Toni Rudiger 8
Crucial interception denied Lo Celso a near-certain goal, then completed rout with one of his own late on. His aggressive defending inspires those around him.
Cesar Azpilicueta 7
Full of energy and forced Spurs back. His knock-down to Havertz should have brought about the opening goal.
Mateo Kovacic 6
Had to do a lot of chasing in the first half and looked a lot more comfortable when he had Kante’s energy to support him.
Jorginho 6
Spurs seemed intent of hounding him to unsettle Chelsea. Had a lot more protection when Kante came on.
Marcos Alonso 8
Stunning volley almost silenced the Spurs fans who jeered him throughout. His corner led to Silva’s opener and only a goal-line block from Dier denied him a goal later.
Mason Mount 6
At the heart of a couple of bright breaks from Chelsea, but did not always seem to trust his pace to get clear. Not in the best of form of late.
Kai Havertz 6
Some bright movement and had the chances to exploit with Lukaku proving such a handful to Spurs’ defenders – but quality let him down.
Romelu Lukaku 7
Worth his weight for the amount he occupied Spurs defenders. Deserved better service and also better finishing from Werner when setting up the German.
