Burns determined to make a return

14 April 2012

Richard Burns expects to revive his rally career as soon as he has recovered from a brain tumour.

Britain's former world champion will undergo a course of radiotherapy and has been ordered to miss next season.

The tumour was discovered after 32-year-old Burns collapsed at the wheel of his Porsche earlier this month. But he is determined to make a comeback.

Burns said: "The doctors have advised that I am unable to get back in a rally car for the 2004 Championship.

"I'm obviously extremely disappointed but I am feeling very positive and I am determined to get back to full fitness as soon as I can."
