Burgess gets Cup green light

13 April 2012

Brentford's new star Ben Burgess has been given the go-ahead to face Norwich in the Worthington Cup tomorrow.

The 19-year-old 6ft 4in striker, signed on a month's loan from Ewood Park, will play after Blackburn Rovers gave permission for him to be Cup-tied.

He was outstanding on his debut against Port Vale on Saturday - scoring once in a 2-0 victory and winning the free-kick from which Paul Evans scored a trademark 35-yard effort.
