Bradford have continued their rebuilding with the signing of Australia half-back Marc Herbert, which is expected to pave the way for the departure of fellow countryman Matt Orford.

The 23-year-old Canberra Raiders player has signed a 12-month contract with the Bulls and becomes new head coach Mick Potter's 10th recruit for 2011.

He is expected to be a straight replacement for the 32-year-old Orford, who this week formally sought a release from the two years left on his three-year contract after becoming homesick and is expected to join Parramatta.

"Marc is a player I have been aware of for some time," said Potter. "I am sure he will make a very good Super League player."

Herbert has made 23 appearances for the Raiders but missed much of this season with an ankle injury from which he has now recovered.

"I am really excited to be joining the Bulls," he said. "Super League will be a different experience for me and I intend to make the most of the opportunity."
