Bruno Senna hopeful he won’t be ditched again

Good to be back: Bruno Senna is racing again for Hispania in Germany
13 April 2012

Bruno Senna returned to Formula One today optimistic that he will keep his seat with the Hispania team for the rest of the season.

Three weeks ago, on the eve of practice for the British Grand Prix, the fledgling F1 outfit caused a shock by ditching the Brazilian for the race in favour of Sakon Yamamoto.

Hispania refused to say why they left out the 26-year-old, who has not scored a point in his debut Formula One campaign.

Today he was back behind the wheel for practice for the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim, hopeful he would see the season out.

The nephew of legendary world champion Ayrton Senna said: "I always want to be racing. I always want to be in the car, so losing a drive is always tough but the important thing is that I'm back.

"Of course I was not happy to not drive, but it's a team decision.

"There's nothing guaranteed in life. I hope I'll be racing until the end of the year. It's fixed but nothing is guaranteed in life. You have a job today but you may not have it tomorrow."

He said the atmosphere in the team was okay adding: "Everything is fine. Everybody was happy to see me back, so I think the environment in the team is fine."

Senna crashed into the gravel as he finished 22nd in the first session. However, that was two places better than tail-ender Yamamoto, who this weekend is replacing Karun Chandhok in the Hispania line-up.
