Bruce planning to keep Upson

Birmingham manager Steve Bruce insists only a "crazy deal" could tempt him to sell defender Matthew Upson next month.

Upson is out of contract at the end of next season and has been linked with a move to a Premiership club in the January transfer window.

But Bruce said on Sky Sports News: "Of course people are going to court him because he has only got 18 months [left on his contract] - but why would I want to sell my best player? We don't want him to go anywhere. He has only got 18 months to go, but it is going to take an absolutely crazy deal to even consider letting our best player go just when we need him."
