Broad in contention for England

12 April 2012

Stuart Broad is expected to be fit to take part in England's third one-day international against South Africa at Newlands.

Broad was not available for either of the first two matches against the Proteas - the first was washed out at the Wanderers before England went 1-0 up in the five-match series at Centurion last weekend.

The Nottinghamshire seamer took a full part in England's middle practice in Cape Town, and a team spokesman confirmed he is available for selection on Friday.

With his fellow fast bowler James Anderson also able to bowl despite his knee niggles, Graeme Swann and Alastair Cook are the only two players still on the sidelines with respective side and back problems.
