Broad: Father knows best

12 April 2012

Stuart Broad will continue to consult the wisdom of his father as he prepares to make his England Test debut.

The 21-year-old, whose father Chris played 25 Tests for England as an opening batsman, was named in a 13-man squad to take on India on Thursday.

Broad said: "He's a great man to speak to because he's been there and done it, had the ups and downs. He's just told me to enjoy it if I get the chance."

Broad looks likely to take his place in a three-man pace attack - and is far from daunted by the prospect.

"I feel comfortable in that environment," he added.

"I'm not too nervous about turning up because I know all the lads; I've been on A tours with the likes of Matt Prior, at the Academy with Cooky [Alastair Cook]."
