Brazil edge out America

Brazil came from behind to defeat the United States 2-1 in their Gold Cup semi-final in Miami. Diego scored the deciding golden goal from the penalty spot 10 minutes into extra time after American defender Cory Gibbs had been sent off for handling his goalbound shot.

Brazil now face the winner of today's other semi-final between Mexico and Costa Rica at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, the site of Sunday's final.

America's Tottenham goalkeeper Kasey Keller said: "We ran out of gas. It was really tough giving up the goal at the end of the game because we had defended so well."
