Dereck Chisora insists he beat Oleksandr Usyk at despite his Ukrainian rival claiming a unanimous decision victory to take a step closer towards fighting for a world heavyweight title next year.

With Anthony Joshua sitting ringside, undefeated Usyk is the mandatory challenger for the WBO title having made the step up from cruiserweight.

Chisora tested Usyk with a few solid shots early on but the 33-year-old ultimately picked his London rival apart at Wembley's SSE Arena with superior speed and fancy footwork.

Chisora staggered into the ropes at the end of the seventh before recovering well, though it was Usyk who got the rod with two scores of 115-113 and one of 117-112 on the judges' scorecards.

Asked by Sky Sports if he deserved the decision, Chisora Sky Sports: "One hundred per cent. I was pushing the pace, I gave a couple of rounds away but I was pushing the pace. But the judges saw it a different way.

"I'm just disappointed with the result and I'm basically gutted."

Asked to give himself a mark out of 10 for his performance, Usyk added: "Three. It's a real test at heavyweight. Chisora is a big, hard guy. I fought his fight but I was expecting an even tougher fight."
