Daniel Dubois could fight Deontay Wilder before the end of the year, according to his promoter Frank Warren.

Dubois is 14-0 and is widely regarded as the brightest prospect in the heavyweight division.

The 22-year-old faces a stern examination of those credentials when he meets fellow unbeaten Londoner Joe Joyce with the two heavyweights scheduled to meet on on July 11 - with an original April date scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Wilder meanwhile is expected to fight Tyson Fury for a third time when boxing resumes after losing his WBC heavyweight title to 'The Gypsy King' in February.

And should Dubois come through his latest test against against Joyce, Warren believes his fighter will be ready for a significant step up against 'The Bronze Bomber'.

Warren told Queensberry Promotions' 'Lockdown Lowdown: “If Daniel comes through his fight with Joyce… then yes, by the end of the year yes.”

He added: “Tyson has shown how beatable Wilder is. Once their rematch is out the way, I’d have no problem matching Daniel with Deontay.

"Wilder is good, don’t get me wrong, but my man will be miles better in time.”
