Anthony Joshua next fight: Deontay Wilder, Dillian Whyte AND Tyson Fury in firing line after Alexander Povetkin win

Anthony Joshua has set out a ‘top three’ as attention turns to his next fight after the seventh-round stoppage of Alexander Povetkin on Saturday night.

Joshua defended his WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles at Wembley Stadium to reaffirm his status as the world's leading heavyweight.

He has booked to fight again at Wembley next April and there will be pressure for promoters to line up Deontay Wilder as his opponent if the American can see off Tyson Fury.

But the Brit has since ranked three of heavyweight boxing’s leading names in order of preference as the process of lining up his 23rd professional bout begins.

Joshua told taskSPORT: "If I had a pecking order it would be Wilder, Dillian (Whyte) and then Fury. Dillian deserves it more than Fury because he's been consistent and Wilder because he's the champion."

After beating Povetkin, Joshua paid tribute to the Russian and revealed he had also been suffering from flu during his preparations.

Joshua added: "I have always said to myself, Povetkin has been a gold medallist, he fought for the world title when I turned pro and he has stayed at the top of his game since then.
