Boa Morte cleared by FA

Luis Boa Morte got some satisfaction from the Football Association when they cleared him of making offensive gestures to Everton fans.

But last night's ruling, which related to an improper conduct charge after Fulham's 2-1 win at Loftus Road in January, was better news than he is likely to get on his racial abuse complaint against Duncan Ferguson.

Everton are confident no charges will be brought against their striker despite Boa Morte claiming the Scot called him a "black ****" during a cup tie at Goodison Park.

Ferguson has always denied the allegation and it is thought that evidence against him will prove inconclusive.
