Blatter slams Chelsea six

13 April 2012

Sepp Blatter today provoked Chelsea by describing their elimination from the UEFA Cup by Hapeol Tel Aviv as "justice from the God of football".

The FIFA president said the six Chelsea players who refused to fly to Israel for the first leg, which ended in a 2-0 defeat, should have honoured their contracts and "done their duty".

A 1-1 draw in the home leg of the secondround tie last week eliminated Chelsea.

Meanwhile, FIFA are set to send off players caught diving or feigning injury at next summer's World Cup finals in Japan and Korea.

Blatter said: "Already a player can be cautioned, but if, in the referee's opinion, the player is showing dissent to the game, he can be sent off.

"That includes diving and lying on the field of play trying to stop the game.

"Cheating is the human face of the game but this is something we will be very strict on at the World Cup."
