Birmingham prepared to see SFA in court as McLeish compensation claim gets ugly

Birmingham are ready to defend themselves in court if the Scottish FA go ahead with legal action over a £1million compensation claim for Alex McLeish.

McLeish quit as Scotland manager last month to replace Steve Bruce, but Birmingham are offering the SFA only £500,000.

A club source said: 'We are not prepared to pay any more.' Birmingham's on-loan defender Johan Djourou will return to Arsenal next month.
