Belfast looking to Knights for salvation

13 April 2012

Belfast Giants' Sekonda Superleague play-off fate lies in the hands of defending champions London Knights.

Giants 4-1 victory at Nottingham Panthers leaves them tied on nine points with grand slam chasing Sheffield Steelers.

Steelers now require just a point from their home match with London on Sunday night to keep alive their bid of lifting all four trophies this season.

Belfast's victory was never in doubt and they eased into a 3-0 lead with goals from Colin Ward, Kory Karlander and Rob Stewart.

Greg Hadden replied for Panthers but Paul Ferone's empty net marker sealed victory for Belfast, who can only now sit and wait to see if their debut season is over.
