Becks: Of course we're going to win

David Beckham is backing England's rugby team to beat hosts Australia in Saturday's World Cup Final.

"Of course they're going to win it," said the England football team captain. "But I don't know by how much.

"It's going to be a hard, tight game but with the way they are playing, the passion they are showing and the way the whole country is getting behind them, they have a great chance."

The Real Madrid midfielder would love to be at the Sydney final to cheer on his mate, England fly-half Jonny Wilkinson, with whom he shot a TV advertisement.

He said: "I'm not a big rugby man but since I've become friends with Jonny I've been watching it a lot more and got a lot more interested in it. I've got English television in Madrid so I'll be able to watch it."
