Barnhouse completes Whitgift nightmare

Millfield winger Dan Barnhouse completed a nightmare 24 hours for Whitgift yesterday when his last-minute try inflicted a 10-8 home defeat on their Under 15 team in the Daily Mail Cup quarter-finals.

The night before, Whitgift's Ist XV had drawn 18-18 against Under 18 Cup holders Campion butwent out on a 3-2 try count. Nick Canty's unconverted try gave Whitgift a half-time lead against Millfield but Sean Parry levelled the score aftergood work by their impressive pack.

A Billy Lamb penalty seemed to havesettled it but when Dan Cipriani's kick failed to find touch Millfield ranthe ball back and put Barnhouse in at the corner. The missed conversion wasthe last kick of the game.
