Barney sneaks into semis

12 April 2012

Raymond van Barneveld will meet James Wade in the semi-finals of the SkyBet World Grand Prix after a thrilling victory over Adrian Lewis in Dublin.

The Dutchman edged out Lewis 4-3 in a thrilling match to stay in the hunt for the £50,000 first prize, the world champion prevailing in the deciding last leg.

"It was an amazing match," said van Barneveld. "Adrian was fantastic and I had a feeling it would be a great game - he kept coming back at me and I'm so relieved to get through."

Wade, July's World Matchplay champion, booked his place in the last four with a 4-0 whitewash of 2004 champion Colin Lloyd.

The other semi-final will see John Part face Terry Jenkins. Part came from two sets down to see off Adrian Gray, while Jenkins held off the challenge of Mark Dudbridge with a 4-1 triumph.
