Baltacha makes her first final

Scotland's Elena Baltacha will appear in the first senior final of her career at Felixstowe tomorrow against Ireland's Kelly Liggan.

Baltacha defeated the Australian qualifier Christina Horiatopoulo 6-2 3-6 6-3 in this afternoon's semi-finals of the 25,000 US dollars LTA Women's grass court event - as a result she should replace Devon's Lucie Ahl as British number two when the ranking are updated next week.

"I'm very excited to be in my first final and I've got nothing to lose," said Baltacha.

"It was a very difficult game today but it will be a completely different one tomorrow.

"I watched her (Liggan) play today and she's got a great serve and is very aggressive from the back of the court.
