Alexandre Lacazette claimed Unai Emery has taken Arsenal to the next level, even if they fail to beat Chelsea in the Europa League Final.

Emery remains on course to lift the trophy for a fourth time, following three consecutive wins with Sevilla from 2014.

Twelve months ago, Arsene Wenger’s team were beaten by Atletico Madrid at the same stage.

After going one better under Emery, Lacazette said: “That’s what the club saw [in] him as the coach to get us to the next step. He did [that] because we go to the final in his first season.”

Lacazette drew inspiration from Liverpool and Tottenham after their Champions League comebacks.

He said: “The English teams played really well and they deserve the qualification. We want to do the same.

“A long time before Liverpool [qualified first], there were not a lot of [English] clubs in the semi-finals and finals but we want to show there is not only Liverpool.”
