Allen joy at double boost

14 April 2012

Richard Paquette has signed for Brentford in time to make his debut at Hull tomorrow.

The 21-year-old former Queens Park Rangers striker has joined the club on a non-contract basis and will link up with the squad today.

His transfer was announced after manager Martin Allen's team booked their place in the second round of the FA Cup with a 4-3 win on penalties against Bristol City at Griffin Park last night.

Alex Rhodes's spot-kick gave Brentford victory in the penalty shootout after the scores were level at 1-1 following extra time.

The home side went ahead on the stroke of half-time through Andrew Frampton but Paul Heffernan equalised for City.

The game, which was screened live on Sky Television, had the lowest home attendance for an FA Cup match for seven years.
