Arsenal legend Ian Wright is putting on a red shirt again after clinching a starring role in a new movie - as a Liverpool player.

Wright, 41, was signed up after film producers saw him hosting his Lotto Wright Around The World show on BBC1, according to newspaper reports.

The ex-Gunner will star in Liverpool Leopard, a film about a soccer idol banned from the game for foul play, The Sun says. The movie tackles the issue of racism in football and will include a scene at Anfield.

The former striker, who has been taking acting lessons, told the newspaper: "I'm well up for it. It will be scary but a great challenge and very exciting."

Wright revently split from wife Debbie, 35, - mother of his children Stacy, ten, and Bobbi-Lee, five.

Filming begins in May.
