Women head-to-head in Apprentice final

Two women will compete against each other in the first all-female final of The Apprentice

Telecoms consultant Michelle Dewberry, 26, and sales manager Ruth Badger, 28, have eliminated 12 other wannabe tycoons.

They'll square up against each other for the six-figure salaried job with Sir Alan Sugar on next Wednesday's BBC2 show.

The pair will have to project manage their fired ex-teammates to create an event in the walkways of Tower Bridge.

Ruth, from Wolverhampton, said: "I am thrilled. My plan was to be the last woman standing, so winning is the only option for me.

"I don't see Michelle as competition for me as we are like chalk and cheese."

Hull-born Michelle, who lives in London, said: "I am very proud to be in the final - and it proves it's the quiet ones you have to watch.

"Being a part of The Apprentice has been one of the most exciting events in my life so far."

The series has been a huge success for BBC2 regularly attracting over 4 million viewers for its Wednesday night slot.

Michelle found herself on the losing team only twice throughout the whole series.

She narrowly escaped getting the chop when she messed up during her Top Shop selling task.

Ruth managed to turn her hand to selling everything from cars to coat stands.

She found herself on the losing team on six occasions and faced Sir Alan four times in the boardroom.
