Vanessa out in BB vote twist

Competitors are reflecting today on a shock twist in the Big Brother house that led to student Vanessa being booted out of the contest.

The 19 year old became the latest to be evicted from the Channel 4 reality show after she was voted out by her fellow contestants last night.

Horrified housemates were forced to vote publicly live on air to decide whether she or Makosi should be removed.

The two had earlier received the most votes from viewers - even though they were unaware they were in line for eviction.

Competitors reacted with astonishment when they were told that it was actually Derek, Eugene, Orlaith, Makosi, Science and Vanessa facing the public vote, not Anthony, Craig and Kemal as they had believed.

As Vanessa sobbed at the dining room table, each housemate was made to stand up and was given 10 seconds to make their decision. All but Kemal voted for her.

After the angry housemates made their decision, Vanessa was given 30 seconds to leave the house.

Makosi ran to the top of the stairs with her and the pair wailed and hugged before they had to separate and Vanessa left to a roar of boos.

She told host Davina McCall the experience of listening as her housemates almost unanimously voted her off had been "horrible".

"That's a really difficult thing to go through," she said. "That's weird."
She said the cruel way in which she had been evicted was worse than the actual fact that she had to go.

"It's really, really hard to deal with that," she said.
