Vanessa Gold's affair humiliation

EastEnders' Vanessa Gold is "humiliated" when she discovers Max Branning has been having an affair with his ex-wife. 

The blonde beauty - played by Zoe Lucker - is left "devastated" when she discovers her boyfriend has been sleeping with Tanya Jessop (Jo Joyner) behind her back, and heads to the couple's secret love nest for a confrontation with her love rival.

Lucker said: "Vanessa's devastated. She's given up a lot to be with Max - not to mention running around after his kids and keeping his house nice. The whole thing is awful for her, and humiliating.

"Of course, she totally blames Tanya. Vanessa can't understand how a woman could do such a terrible thing to another woman. She never saw Tanya as a threat, or dreamt she could betray her like she has."

Following the confrontation, Vanessa returns to Albert Square and trashes Max's (Jake Wood) flat.

Zoe added: "She smashed up Max's house. Vanessa's having a breakdown. She's losing control and doesn't like being in that position at all.

"She can't sit back and take it. Vanessa wants to prove to herself and the rest of the world she's a survivor."

Zoe is set to depart the show later this year and she admits she is "sad" at the thought of leaving.

She told Inside Soap magazine: "I've got three weeks of filming left, and I'm really sad about it.

"The scripts I'm getting right now are fantastic - so I'm really able to strut my stuff as Vanessa."
