Joe Exotic‘s prostate cancer is in remission as the Tiger King star gave a new health update from prison.

The incarcerated Tiger King star, 59, was diagnosed with prostate cancer last November.

Confirming he is now in remission, he shared his medical woes are far from over as his body is struggling to heal after undergoing radiation treatment and has left him with common variable immunodeficiency.

Common variable immunodeficiency is an immune deficiency disease where a patient has low levels of protective antibodies and therefore has an increased risk of infections.

Exotic – real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage – shared his update on Twitter saying he has been “vomiting” everything he has eaten for the past 52 days.

He wrote: "Well my cancer is in remission which is good. But with me having ‘CVID’ not Covid-19 we can’t get my bladder to heal or prostate from all the radiation.

"Today makes 52 days of blot clots and blood when I pee when some of the nurse’s are concerned.

"Been putting in sick calls weekly but it’s the federal government, like they are now going to pay everyone’s child care now.

"Once Tami gets the billboards going up. Please help get them put up across America. My voice is the voice of many. This must change."

He signed off with: "Love all Joe Exotic."

Exotic was sentenced to 22 years in prison in January 2020 after being convicted of 17 federal charges of animal abuse and two counts of attempted murder for hire after he plotted to have animal rights activist Carole Baskin killed.

He has been working with his Power of Attorney Tami Springer to fight for his freedom after his appeal was rejected earlier this year.

The big cat fan was re-sentenced to 21 years in prison after his plea for freedom was rejected.

However, his legal team have vowed to appeal the decision and petition for a new trial.
