Taylor Swift would make music history should she pick up Album of the Year at this Sunday’s Grammy Awards.

The crème-de-la-crème of the music industry will descend on Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena in the hope of bringing home a coveted golden gramophone.

And for one artist in particular, Swift, Sunday could prove to be a history-making evening if her album, Midnights, pick up the biggest prize of the night.

She already made headlines with her 2024 Song of the Year nomination, making her the only person to ever receive seven nods in that category.

If she clinches Album of the Year, she would surpass music legends Stevie Wonder and Frank Sinatra, who each hold three trophies in that category, to become the first artist to win it four times, an unprecedented feat in Grammy history.

However, Swift, who is nominated for six awards, faces stiff competition in the category against Boygenius, Janelle Monaé, Jon Batiste, Lana Del Rey, Miley Cyrus, SZA, and Olivia Rodrigo.

And Sunday might not only be a historic evening for Swift, but also her longtime collaborator, Jack Antonoff, should they pick up Record of the Year for Midnights.

The music producer already has two Album of the Year Grammys for his work on Swift’s 1989 and folklore. He also won Song of the Year and Best New Artist with his pop rock band Fun., who are currently on indefinite hiatus.

So, if he picks up Record of the Year, he will become one of the few individuals – currently just Adele, Billie Eilish and Christopher Cross - to win all four ‘majors’.

Not only will attention be on Swift and her close collaborator but also SZA, who could become the most decorated artist in one night at the annual event.

The Kill Bill singer is nominated for nine awards, and if she manages to win at least seven of those categories, she would become the female artist with the most ever wins in a single night - a record pop powerhouses Adele and Beyoncé currently hold with six. However, Michael Jackson and American rock band Santana jointly hold the record by any artist with eight wins in a single night.
