Step away from the cookie! Yo-yo dieter Kirstie Alley ploughs through some sweet treats

She famously slimmed her way back into a bikini just two years ago, but calorie counting seemed to be the furthest thing from Kirstie Alley's mind over lunch in Los Angeles yesterday.

The yo-yo dieter skipped over the salad, instead tucking into what appeared to be an array of fried delights and sweet treats.

The Cheers star, who had previously lost five stone in three years with Jenny Craig,  ended her three-year reign as the face of the weight loss company in February.

There was widespread speculation her increasing size led to company bosses passing her over in favour of the current spokesmodel, actress Queen Latifah.

However the 57-year-old, who once tipped the scales 15st 7lbs,  vowed to launch her own weigh loss brand next year.

She said at the time: "I want to create something new that will help millions of people end the seemingly never ending fatty-roller coaster ride."
